Hunting Island State Park & the Beaufort area enjoy semi-tropic weather patterns and seasons. Bugs are out spring through fall.
Spring
60-80 range, pleasant, usually clear days & nights. Flowers in full bloom, the pesky sand flea make their appearance in March.
Summer
80-90+ range, usually pleasant with ocean breeze. Late afternoon thunderstorms may appear June - September. Cool ocean breeze helps to keep it enjoyable. Drink lots of water & use sun screen!
Fall
50-80 range, very much like spring, can be cool at night but usually very nice during the daytime. A lot of clear days and nights.
Winter
40-70 range, very short season here, usually December-February with a few really cold nights in the 20's, but mostly it's not to bad. Can feel much colder when cold, because of the humidity.
